About Us

The Humberside Association of Neighbourhood Watch Groups (HANWaG) is an independent organisation with charitable status and is a company limited by guarantee that works together with local communities, strategic partners and other agencies to promote and support the development of neighbourhood watch throughout the Humberside Police Area.

We have a Chairman, David Williams, who has been involved with HANWaG since its inception. Our Vice Chairman is Tony Anson, Managing Partner of Gelder and Kitchen Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Engineers based in Hull. 

HANWaG has formed strong links with other strategic partners in order to promote 'joined up working'. These partners include Community Safety Partnerships and Youth Offending Teams.

HANWaG is represented on a multitude of partnership strategy groups throughout the Humberside Police area in order to ensure that its work is firmly located within local strategic frameworks.

Our real strength lays in our neighbourhood watch group members, who devote their time and energy to make our community a safer and better place. They involve themselves in a myriad of local initiatives and we are very proud of the work they do.

“To promote active citizenship in the community with greater public participation in the prevention and solution of crime through Neighbourhood Watch activities.”
